Uninstall and clean up

Where each ActNow app keeps its files, how to remove one completely, and the model folder the apps share.

Steps

Remove one app

Free the space in the app first

Open the app's Models page and remove its models, or use Settings → Storage → Erase everything where the app has it. Models that another ActNow app still uses are kept for it; only what nobody else needs is deleted. Deleting the app alone leaves its models on the disk.

Quit it

From its menu bar icon or its menu (⌘Q). Apps that open at login stop doing so once they are gone.

Move it to the Trash

Drag it from Applications to the Trash, then empty the Trash.

Remove what it leaves

Its folders below, with Finder (Go → Go to Folder…, ⇧⌘G) or the Terminal commands. Your exports, recordings you saved elsewhere and Act's libraries are your files: they stay unless you delete them.

The shared folder goes last

~/Library/Application Support/ActNow holds what the ActNow apps share: the model library, the shared settings and who uses which model. Delete it only once no ActNow app is left on this Mac.

Folders

Where each app keeps things

Every app keeps its library and settings in ~/Library/Application Support/<App>, rebuildable files in ~/Library/Caches/<App> and its logs in ~/Library/Logs/<App>. A data folder you moved in Settings → Storage is where you put it.

Remove the leftovers

The same, in Terminal. Quit the app first. rm deletes without the Trash: check the names.

It holds the model library (often several GB), the settings the apps share (language, proxy, download source, model folder) and which app uses which model. While any ActNow app is installed, deleting it costs that app its models: they download again.

Notes

Cleaning tools and models

Yes, for one app: they find its folders by its name and bundle id (dev.hehehai.<app>), and they do not take ~/Library/Application Support/ActNow for any one app's, so the other apps keep their models. In a "deep" or "sensitive" mode some match every file that starts with dev.hehehai: untick the other ActNow apps' files before you delete.
